- Hi there! My name is Melanie Patterson. I have 2 older brothers, Stephen & Mark. Stephen is also in real estate on the lower North Shore. I grew up in Killara & Lindfield, & lived in 15 houses. My father was a builder, & my mother an interior deisgner, & their hobby was to buy & resell newly renovated period homes. I loved the excitement of helping my mother create a new home (I especially loved choosing & designing my own bedroom!). My passion of making a house into a home will be with me forever. My husband, Richard, has been in the Real Estate industry for over 30 years, where he began in Bondi & later Woollahra. During this period I was busy developing my own business, a lunchtime restaurant in a gorgeous pub in The Rocks, The Brooklyn Bakehouse. They were amazing years; making terrines, baking ducks & churning ice creams. To this day I am passionate when it comes to anything to do with food... Produce, history, dining, cooking, baking, experimenting, entertaining!
